The European Union consolidated itself as the second largest importer of Brazilian agribusiness products in August 2023, despite a decrease of 10.9% compared to previous periods. This economic bloc purchased a total of US$2.01 billion in products, demonstrating a diversified trend in import choices.
Among the products most sought after by the European Union, soybean meal stands out, which reached sales of US$504.29 million, representing 42.4% of the value exported by Brazil. Green coffee also had a notable performance, with exports of US$315.76 million and a share of 48.3%. Soybeans, another key product, recorded US$261.06 million in sales.
Furthermore, non-manufactured tobacco surprised with a 101.3% increase in exports, totaling US$ 168.25 million. Corn and orange juice also appear on the list, with US$ 130.10 million and US$ 115.69 million in sales, respectively.
This distribution of imports reflects the diversity and quality of Brazilian agricultural products, which continue to be highly valued in the European market.
