In a significant transformation in global trade, Asia has emerged as the main region for importing Brazilian agribusiness products in the 21st century. This major shift reflects an unprecedented expansion, with Asia's share jumping from 19.3% in August 2001 to an impressive 51.2% in August 2023. This figure is only surpassed by the peak of 53.3% achieved in August 2018.

Concurrently, the European Union, once the leader in importing Brazilian agribusiness products with a share of 33.0% in 2001, has witnessed a sharp decline, reaching just 12.9% in August 2023. This role reversal highlights a significant reconfiguration in Brazil's trade relations with the world.
In concrete numbers, Asia imported an astronomical value of $8.00 billion in Brazilian agribusiness products in August 2023 alone, an increase of 15.3% compared to the $6.94 billion in the same period in 2022. This increase reinforces the continent's status as the main destination for Brazilian exports in the sector.

Among the most demanded products, soybeans stand out, with sales of $3.40 billion representing 81.2% of Brazil's exported value; corn, with $1.16 billion and 52.6% share; raw sugarcane sugar, totaling $639.08 million and 42.4% share; soybean meal, with $630.73 million and 53.0% share; and in natura beef, which, despite a reduction of 42.4%, still holds 67.0% of the exported value from Brazil.
